Coach Shaver is the Head Boys Basketball coach at Pine Tree. He grew up in Diana, TX where he was Valedictorian and was an all-state basketball player for 3 years. He met his wife Megan of 16 years at Northwestern State University while he was playing basketball there. They have three very active and amazing boys. Jaxon is 14 and goes to Pine Tree Junior High, Kade is 11 and goes to Pine Tree Middle School, and Bryce is 8 and goes to Pine Tree Parkway Elementary. Coach Shaver graduated from St. Leo University with a degree in Business, but never stopped being a student of the game. Last year he started a children’s Pine Tree developmental basketball program. His biggest goal is developing fundamental skills early on so that our students can learn how to play the right way together as a team. He’s coached at Loyola, Calvary, and Central School in Grand Cane. He also coaches the safeties and wide receivers on the Junior High football team. bshaver@ptisd.org |
